Guides on the Croton River

Once again Anglers' Den is offering our guide trips on the Croton River. Spend a half-day stalking large winter rainbows and brown trout that migrate into the river system at this time of year. This is an excellent time to beat the crowds and learn the difficult art of Czech nymphing, swinging wet flies, and throwing streamers at large hungry fish. Our guide staff has spent over twenty-five years fishing this river. They are licensed and have a great deal of experience with this type of fishing. The cost is $125.00 for one angler for four hours. Additional fisherman will be an added $25.00 per angler. All flies, leaders, and tippets are provided. Rods, reels, and waders are available for rent from the Anglers' Den on a first come first served basis.

Fly Tying Lessions - Thursday nights at Anglers' Den, 7:30 - 9:00 p.m.

The Anglers' Den will be giving fly tying lessons for all experience levels. Open classes are Thursday nights from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. and run for two weeks. All materials and tools are provided. Whether you are just learning or would like to take your fly tying to the next level, classes can be suited to your level of experience. We also offer private lessons for groups of two to four tyers. Open classes are $100.00 dollars on a limited sign-up basis as they fill up quickly. Please call for scheduling on private lessons or parties. Our instructors are professional fly tyers and proven fishing guides or captains. We stress the basics and fundamentals as they provide a solid foundation for progression. MOSQUITO LAGOON REDS

Come join the boys on an amazing adventure to Mosquito Lagoon on the space coast in Florida. What is amazing about the awesome fishery of Mosquito Lagoon? Mosquito Lagoon offers some of the best Redfish sight fishing on earth. It's known as the "Redfish Capital of the World" and for good reason. Thousands of Redfish frequent this exceptional estuary and catching large monsters that can exceed 40+ pounds is not uncommon. Sight fishing is a dream in Mosquito Lagoon. If conditions allow we will also be fishing near shore for cobia and tripletail. This is not the first trip to Mosquito for the Anglers Den, nobody will be disappointed if all goes as planned, some days we had shots at over two hundred fish! This trip can be done at a reasonable price depending on airfare rates and the accommodations and pleasantries we agree on.

ALBACORE

Captain Jeff Becker fishes Orient Point, Long Island. This is a much more intimate and secluded fishery than the better known waters around Montauk. Captain Jeff Becker is a proven fisherman; his knowledge of the fishing in the area is second to none. Jeff loves to share his knowledge of the area with his clients and gets true satisfaction from introducing them to this rich marine experience.

FLY FISH WESTCHESTER COUNTY

We invite you to spend the day on the Croton watershed system sight casting to brook, brown, and rainbow trout in crystal clear water.  This unique tailwater system, located just one hour from New York City consists of some 13 different rivers with a year round cold-water release (average temp is 50 degrees)

The Anglers Den will set up a custom day suited to your experience level with one of our local and knowledgeable instructors/guides.   Whether you’re a beginner or advanced fly fisher we will put you on a river that will best challenge your skills in some of the most scenic views of the lower Hudson valley.
You will need:
— New York State fishing license
— New York D.E.P. permit
— Waders
— Polarized glasses
— 3-5 weight fly rod
All equipment can be provided by the Anglers Den and D.E.P. permit can be issued there as well.
