Salmon River Fishing Report (Oswego Co. NY)

Posted by Jack Wilkinson

The king salmon are in the rivers but not in strong numbers yet. There have been reports of fish pushing in small groups and especially with the rain that was spread across the state received and the bump in the flows the fish should be inspired to move. Over the weekend the flow was increased to 750 cfs. Fishing lower in the river is where to find them but you must be mobile and search for them to be successful. At this point in the season it's not too many fish in the river but there's also more space to explore as a result of less anglers and pressure.

Douglaston Salmon Run (DSR)

Reports from Douglaston have been seeing some cohos pushing in the upper section of the river and bringing a few to hand, midsection kings have been moving in small groups, with anglers having success drifting egg patterns. Water temp is around mid 60s in the morning. Kings are pushing in the lower section as of this morning and with the bump in water more should be following.
